Knowing The Contents Of Cellulite Treatment Creams

Cellulite treatment creams have become common drugstore items. With many brands and variants of anti-cellulite creams, it is no wonder that consumers get confused on which can make the most life-changing, body-shaping, skin-enhancing product. It is important to know, however, that cellulite treatment, in any form, are not regulated by the FDA. This means that the creams, gels and other anti-cellulite medication are not supported by scientific study.

The most popular form of cellulite treatments are topical creams. Although such creams produce a positive effect, it does not last for long. It only makes the skin appear soft and smooth for several hours, giving the illusion of flawless, cellulite-free skin. Regular application is therefore needed, or else cream will lose its effect and cellulite will reappear.

Common Ingredients of Cellulite Treatment Creams

Aminophylline is usually found in asthma medications because it helps relax the lungs during attacks. Being derivative of theophyllinem, which is a muscle relaxant, Aminophylline is therefore a common ingredient in manufacturing cellulite treatment creams.

Vitamin A derivatives called Retinoids are a primary ingredient in wrinkle treatment creams. It is a competent substance that gets rid of fine wrinkles and rough patches of skin. This is because Retinoids improve the circulation of blood in the skin. However, while Retinoids are effective against wrinkles, the same cannot be said where cellulite is concerned.

Alpha Hydroxy Acid, also known as AHA, is also a significant ingredient in skin care creams. It is derived from plants and fruits such as tomatoes, grapes, apricots and apples. AHA is an effective yet gentle exfoliant, removing dead skin cells and promoting the turnover of new cells.
